Partnering to enhance inclusion and independence
When choosing organisations to partner with, Assistance Dogs Australia look for shared values. It’s in large part the reason why our partnership with Hyundai Help for Kids has lasted so long. It’s also why we are delighted to announce that Hyundai Motor Company is our official vehicle partner. Over the course of our eight-year partnership, we have shared the mission to create a brighter future for children through the provision of Assistance and Educational Support Dogs – and that future certainly is bright!
With Hyundai’s support, ADA has successfully placed 17 internationally accredited Assistance Dogs with children and young adults with autism. Since 2016, we have received a total value of over $400,000 in grants and vehicle in-kind support, which has created a lasting impact within our organisation. Hyundai have also sponsored the Advanced Training of dogs Turbo, Nexo and most recently, Ada.
ADA has doubled our fleet of VIP (Very Important Pups/People) vans to six this year, which is made possible with Hyundai’s vehicle assistance across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We are so excited to be adding another three vehicles in the new financial year, which will increase our community impact even more.
These vehicles are an essential and central part of the day-to-day support Hyundai provides ADA as they directly impact the lives of children and young adults in Australia. Hyundai’s VIP vans are used in the following ways:
- For puppy educators visiting puppies in the community
- Transporting dogs in training on their daily field trips
- Supporting dog transport for training classes with recipients
- For ongoing client visits
- Delivering an Assistance Dog to its client
Assistance Dogs are capable of transforming the lives of children and young adults with disability who are experiencing social exclusion through individual or group placements. These working partnerships represent eight to nine years of enhanced inclusion and independence and it’s made possible through our partnerships.
Hyundai Help for Kids has raised an incredible $14 million for children’s charities around the country. It is a leader in social responsibility that provides opportunities for its customers to support community programs just like ours. We are so proud to continue partnering with Hyundai Help for Kids, and can’t wait to see what impact we can make together in the future.
